Run by DENS in partnership with Dacorum Borough Council, The Elms is a temporary, 44-bed emergency accommodation facility for homeless individuals. Covering 5 floors, the building comprises of bedroom accommodation, shower and toilet facilities, a large kitchen, office facilities, medical rooms and a communal area.
Those who take up residence at the Elms have the opportunity to work with a key worker and specialists in mental health, substance misuse and relationships. As a result there have been a huge number of residents improving their confidence and self-esteem through basic life and employment skill building sessions.
